Swiatek reaches French Open final, faces Trevisan
Top seed extends her winning streak to 35 matches
Gauff falls in straight sets in a rematch of last year's final
PARIS (AP) — Iga Swiatek continued her dominance over Coco Gauff to reach the French Open final for the third straight year with a 6-2, 6-4 victory on Thursday.
Swiatek extended her winning streak to 35 matches and will face Martina Trevisan of Italy in Saturday’s final.
Gauff, who turns 19 on Friday, fell to 0-4 against the top-ranked Swiatek. Swiatek defeated Gauff in the 2022 French Open final, 6-1, 6-3.
The 21-year-old Swiatek is seeking her second Grand Slam title of the year after winning the Australian Open in January. She is also the second-youngest player in the Open Era to make four French Open finals after Steffi Graf.
